Agnieszka Radwanska races through in straight sets at Roland Garros

Agnieszka Radwanska progresses through to the third round of the French Open, courtesy of a 6-2 6-4 win over Caroline Garcia in Paris.

Second seed Agnieszka Radwanska has kept alive her hopes of tasting French Open success for the first time by seeing off Caroline Garcia in a straightforward fashion.

The 2013 quarter-finalist made it two straight-sets victories in succession, earning a 6-2 6-4 win at Roland Garros just two days after an equally solid showing against Bojana Jovanovski.

Radwanska made a slow start to the contest, losing her service game in the opener before quickly hitting back to break her opponent in the second.

Garcia - ranked at 40 in the world - was unable to keep pace, however, and Radwanska took four games on the spin to wrap up the first set.

The second set did prove to be a slightly tougher affair, with both players struggling to hold serve, but Radwanska finally progressed through with her third match point to open the way for a third-round tie with Barbora Strycova.
