Angelique Kerber has eased into the quarter-finals of the Indian Wells Open after defeating Li Na 6-4 6-2 in California.
The German pro stamped her mark on the game in the early stages of the contest, leaving her Chinese opponent with little time to make an impact.
Kerber maintained her dominance of the French Open champion, who was competing in her first event since withdrawing from the Paris Indoor Open, and took the match point in straight sets.
Kerber will have to overcome Victoria Azarenka in order to claim a spot in the semi-finals of the tournament.
