Andy Murray criticises the ATP's new time-violation rule.

Andy Murray has criticised the new time-violation rule that has been enforced by the ATP this season.

Receivers can now be awarded points if their opponent takes longer than 25 seconds to serve.

"I like that there is a time violation in there," US Open champion Murray told reporters. "I think it'll be good, but I think starting off with 25 seconds at the beginning was a bit too much, because players just aren't used to playing at that pace."

Murray has the chance to defend his Brisbane International title on Sunday when he takes on Grigor Dimitrov in Australia.
