Andy Murray reaches the Brisbane International final after Kei Nishikori withdraws through injury.

Andy Murray has progressed through to the Brisbane International final after opponent Kei Nishikori retired through injury.

The 25-year-old had been closing in on victory in his semi-final match after he sealed the first set 6-4.

However, his passage through to the final was confirmed earlier than scheduled when his Japanese opponent pulled out with a knee injury with Murray 2-0 up in the second set.

Murray will now play Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov in Sunday's final.
