The Czech Republic's Petra Kvitova has been named as the WTA's Player of the Year for 2011.
The 21-year-old, who won Wimbledon this year, rose from number 34 in the world to number two.
She also won the season-ending WTA Championships in Istanbul last month, beating Victoria Azarenka in the final.
After that victory, Kvitova described the past 12 months as a "dream" year.
