Caroline Wozniacki overcomes spirited Saisai Zheng in first round of Wimbledon

Caroline Wozniacki seals her place in the second round of Wimbledon courtesy of a victory over China's Zheng Saisai in straight sets.

Caroline Wozniacki has overcome a tough test from China's Zheng Saisai to seal her place in the second round of Wimbledon.

The 21-year-old put the number five seed under immediate pressure and raced into a 4-1 lead in the first set, but the Dane responded by winning five games on the spin to secure a 7-5 victory.

Wozniacki cruised to victory in the second set, with Zheng failing to win a game as the 24-year-old displayed her quality with a 6-0 drubbing to advance to the next stage of the competition.

The number five seed will play Denisa Allertova in the second round.
