AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani pours cold water on reports linking the club with a move for Southampton's Gaston Ramirez.

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has dismissed reports linking the club with a move for Southampton's Gaston Ramirez.

The Uruguay international has been tipped for a return to Italy after struggling to settle in the Premier League, but Galliani insists that the striker is not required at the San Siro.

"There's no need for Ramirez, we are fine as we are. If someone leaves then we'll see, but there are no 'gifts' on the horizon for the fans," he told Sky Sport Italia.

However, Galliani fuelled rumours linking Milan with a swoop for promising youngster Riccardo Saponara, who is co-owned by Empoli and Parma.

"Saponara is certainly a player that fits in with the policy of focusing on youth that Milan are taking," he added.

Saponara has also been linked with Milan's Serie A rivals Juventus and Inter Milan as well as Premier League outfit Liverpool.
