Robert Lewandowski has revealed that he is close to signing a new contract at Bayern Munich.
Last week, Lewandowski's representative Maik Barthel denied media reports that the Polish international, who was strongly linked with Real Madrid in the summer, was close to an extension at the Allianz Arena.
However, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge claimed on Friday that the two parties were close to an agreement that would see the 28-year-old extend his stay in Germany.
After scoring twice in Bayern's 3-1 win over Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon, Lewandowski revealed that contract talks with the German champions were in the latter stages.
"I don't think it will take much longer, but we need to have a bit more patience. I haven't signed the contract yet. When we have find a few solutions [to a few issues] we will inform everyone," Lewandowski told reporters.
The former Borussia Dortmund forward has scored 79 times in 114 appearances for Bayern since arriving at the Allianz in the summer of 2014.
