Brentford are reportedly eyeing a summer move for Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Nathan Collins.

Brentford are reportedly interested in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Nathan Collins.

After finishing in ninth position last term, the Bees have already got to work in the transfer window as they look to build upon a successful campaign.

Kevin Schade has converted his loan move to a permanent transfer after signing for a club-record fee from Bundesliga club Freiburg.

The winger is joined by his former Freiburg teammate, goalkeeper Mark Flekken, who has arrived for a reported £11m fee.

Thomas Frank will still be keen to make additions to his side, and he appears to be in the market for a new centre-back following the departure of Pontus Jansson.

According to the Daily Mail, Brentford have identified Collins as a potential target and are considering a move for the Republic of Ireland international.

Collins, who joined Wolves from Burnley last summer, has a contract until June 2027 with an option to extend by a further 12 months.

The centre-back made 26 top-flight appearances in the 2022-23 campaign, but he saw his playing time diminish following the January arrival of Craig Dawson.

Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui handed Collins just two starts in the club's final 18 games of the Premier League season.

Wolves are not actively looking to offload the 22-year-old but would be open to selling him to raise funds for the summer transfer window.

The Bees reportedly value Collins at around £20m, but Wolves will be hoping to make a profit on the £20.5m that they paid to sign him from Burnley.

Collins, who has 11 international caps, has been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Greece and Gibraltar.

David Raya, meanwhile, is expected to leave Brentford this summer, with Tottenham Hotspur leading the race for the Spain international.
