Chelsea interim coach Roberto Di Matteo has backed John Terry following Tuesday night's 4-1 defeat at Liverpool.

The Blues captain was at fault for two of the goals that his side conceded as their chances of finishing fourth were ended.

"He has been playing all the games, he has been a leader and everything you want in a captain," Di Matteo told reporters.

The Stamford Bridge club conclude their Premier League campaign on Sunday when they host relegated Blackburn Rovers.
