Eden Hazard: 'Chelsea are worthy champions'

Eden Hazard thanks Jose Mourinho for allowing him to play his "best football" on the field and play a key part in Chelsea winning the Premier League title.

PFA Player of the Year Eden Hazard has insisted that Chelsea are worthy winners of this season's Premier League title.

The Blues picked up the three points required against Crystal Palace this afternoon to lay claim to the top-flight crown for the first time in five years.

Many have suggested in recent weeks that the West London outfit's style of play is not fitting of champions, but Hazard has no doubt that Chelsea "deserve" to finish top of the pile.

"The manager gives me a lot of feelings and I can play my best football on the pitch which is the most important thing," he told Sky Sports News.

"I know the team need me and a player like me. I am here to score, and this season all the players did well. We deserve to be champions, and everyone at Chelsea is happy today."

Hazard's goal on the stroke of half time proved to be enough for Chelsea to pick up the 1-0 win against Palace.
