Giuseppe Marotta: 'Daniele Rugani will get his chance'

Italy Under-21 international Daniele Rugani will be given a chance to impress for Juventus this season, insists the club's general manager Giuseppe Marotta.

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta has insisted that Daniele Rugani will be given a chance to impress for the Italian champions this season.

The 21-year-old, who joined Juve from Empoli in the summer, has only made one appearance for the Old Lady this season and that came in the Champions League.

It has been reported that both Arsenal and Manchester United were interested in signing the Italian due to his lack of action, but Marotta has said that the defender will be "a protagonist in the coming years".

"We're extremely pleased [with him]. He has champions in his position though, it's hard to force his way in," Marotta told Radio Sportiva.

"But he embodies the spirit of this club, a sense of belonging, playing in the Champions League. He'll be a protagonist in the coming years. His chance will come."

Rugani has earned 15 caps for Italy's Under-21 team.
