Leyton Orient out of relegation zone with Coventry City win

Josh Wright's goal is enough to move Leyton Orient out of the League One relegation zone as they beat Coventry City 1-0.

Leyton Orient moved out of the League One relegation zone with a 1-0 win against Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena this evening.

Josh Wright's goal 12 minutes from time was enough for the visitors, who went to within a point of their hosts in 18th in the third tier.

After a cagey opening period, Mathieu Baudry flashed a header wide just before the half-hour mark before Frank Nouble went close for Coventry as the home side finished strongly.

Chris Dagnall was denied with a close-range header in first-half stoppage time, but it was the second half that had the game's big chances.

Grant Ward curled an effort at goal inside the box, but was unlucky to see it bounce off the post two minutes into the second half.

The visitors were fortunate to stay level when Baudry cleared George Thomas's goal-bound effort off the line moments later.

After weathering a Coventry storm, Wright struck the winner when he calmly slotted home after a through-ball from Dagnall on the edge of the box.

The victory sees Orient out of the relegation zone for the first time since January, while the defeat means that the Sky Blues have lost four consecutive home games.
