Marcus Rashford makes 23-man England squad for Euro 2016

Marcus Rashford makes the 23-man England squad for Euro 2016, while Danny Drinkwater, Andros Townsend and Fabian Delph drop out.

Eighteen-year-old Marcus Rashford has been named in England's 23-man squad for Euro 2016, just three months after making his Manchester United debut.

There were rumblings that the teen could be included in the final party at the expense of Daniel Sturridge, but manager Roy Hodgson has opted to take both strikers to France.

Three players have dropped out of the provisional 26-man squad - Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater, Newcastle United winger Andros Townsend and Manchester City's Fabian Delph.

Rashford made his case last Friday when he became the youngest ever England player to score on his debut after striking three minutes into a 2-1 win over Australia.

There were doubts over whether Jordan Henderson and Jack Wilshere would keep their places as they have only recently recovered from injuries, but both have been selected by Hodgson.

Ross Barkley was a contender to be dropped, but he too has kept his place, despite not featuring heavily in the Three Lions' recent friendlies.

The squad includes three goalkeepers, eight midfielders and five strikers for England's campaign, which gets underway on June 11 against Russia.
