Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has denied a charge of misconduct issued by the Football Association.
The Scotsman was charged by the English governing body for comments made regarding assistant referee Simon Beck following a 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on January 20.
The Red Devils boss described the match official as "shocking" and claimed that he was "disappointed" with his performance at White Hart Lane.
Ferguson had until 4pm today to respond to the FA and it has now emerged that the 71-year-old will not accept the charge.
The governing body has confirmed that Ferguson has requested a paper hearing, which will involve written submissions.
