Javier Hernandez: 'I will get chance to prove myself at Manchester United'

Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez believes that he will still get the chance to prove himself at the Premier League club next season.

Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has insisted that he will get another chance to prove that he still has a future at Old Trafford.

Reds coach Louis van Gaal sent Hernandez out on loan to Real Madrid last season, where the Mexican scored eight goals in 31 appearances, but the frontman believes that he will now get the opportunity to show the Dutch coach his worth.

"But the circumstances were different [when he left last summer] - Van Gaal arrived and wanted to restructure the squad, make it smaller," said Hernandez, according to Marca.

"There was no European competition and he wanted to concentrate on the league and maybe he didn't want so many players because they were not going to be able to play.

"Now the situation has changed. There will be a Champions League qualifier, a lot more games and I think that there will be more opportunities. I think I will have chances to play at United."

The 27-year-old has made 102 appearances so far for United, scoring 37 goals in the process.
