Andreas Pereira 'to return to Manchester United as Lazio cannot afford him'

Andreas Pereira is set to return to Manchester United at the end of the season as Lazio reportedly cannot afford to buy the midfielder outright.

Lazio have reportedly been priced out of a permanent transfer for Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira.

The 25-year-old has spent the campaign on loan at the Stadio Olimpico and was expected to stay on beyond this summer.

However, Italian outlet Citta Celeste suggests that Lazio cannot afford to trigger the €25m (£21.62m) right-to-buy clause in the Brazil international's contract.

Pereira has appeared 21 times for the Biancocelesti this season, though all but four of those outings have come as a substitute.

The United academy product has also previously spent time on loan with Spanish sides Granada and Valencia.
