West Ham United reportedly intend to press ahead with a move for Jesse Lingard as he prepares for crunch talks over his Manchester United future.

West Ham United are reportedly determined to push ahead with a move for Manchester United's Jesse Lingard this summer.

The England international reignited his career under the tutelage of David Moyes last term, banking nine goals and five assists in 16 Premier League outings as the Hammers secured Europa League football.

West Ham are understandably keen to sign Lingard on a permanent basis following his hugely successful loan spell, and the attacker affirmed that he is pining for regular football amid links with a return to the London Stadium.

According to the Evening Standard, Lingard will hold talks with Man United over his future when he reports for pre-season training, but West Ham intend to step up their pursuit of the Englishman regardless.

Lingard is thought to prefer staying at Man United if he is given assurances over his game time, but the expected arrival of Jadon Sancho could boost West Ham's prospects of signing the 28-year-old if he is pushed further down the pecking order.

The attacker only has 12 months left to run on his Old Trafford deal, and his only appearances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the 2020-21 season came in the EFL Cup.
