Darren Ferguson hails "professional" Peterborough United

Darren Ferguson hails his Peterborough United team for the professionalism shown to dispose of Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park today.

Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson has hailed his team's professionalism to put their opponents to the sword in their 5-0 victory over Tranmere Rovers today.

The Posh effectively ended the game as a contest within the first half by racing into a 3-0 lead, before Rovers defender Andrai Jones was sent off.

However, Ferguson's men did not take their foot off the gas and added another two goals in the second half, and the 41-year-old admits that he is delighted with his team's ruthlessness.

He told reporters: "I'm very pleased about the way we went about our business in the second-half. It was very, very professional.

"You can get sloppy in these kind of games when you're facing 10 men. You can get complacent but at half time I said 'be professional, we can get more goals' and we did so I am very pleased."

Ferguson has led the club to their best start to a league campaign for 52 years following four straight victories in League One.
