President Sandro Rosell declares that Barcelona have no reason to want to sell Lionel Messi.

Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has once again declared that Lionel Messi is not for sale.

Rosell, who took over at Barcelona in 2010, insists that the team's ownership structure means that the Catalan club have no reason whatsoever to sell the Argentinian forward.

"Messi is not for sale," Rosell told L'Equipe.

"A corporation would sell him because it is seeking profits, but this is not the case with us.

"Competition with such corporations is difficult... but long term it is we who will have more success."

Barcelona host Real Madrid in El Clasico at the Nou Camp tonight.
