Paris Saint-Germain are willing to make a world record bid for Gareth Bale to land Andre Villas-Boas as their coach, according to a report.

Paris Saint-Germain are poised to make an £85m bid for Gareth Bale in an attempt to lure Andre Villas-Boas to become the club's coach, according to a report.

The Portuguese manager reportedly rebuffed the Ligue 1 champions' first approach to take over from Carlo Ancelotti next season.

However, PSG believe that a world record bid for Bale in the region £85m will be enough to make their intentions clear to Villas-Boas, reports The Mirror.

The 35-year-old has two years left on his deal at White Hart Lane and is believed to have a £10m buy-out clause.
