Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo admits that he was delighted with the performance of his Wolverhampton Wanderers side after they recorded a 3-0 win at Leeds United.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has praised his side's performance in the 3-0 victory at Leeds United on Wednesday night.

The Championship leaders made the trip to Elland Road having failed to win in three games, but goals from Romain Saiss, Willy Boly and Benik Afobe ensured that the visitors enjoyed a comfortable night in Yorkshire.

After the game, Nuno was quick to give credit to his players, claiming that the squad had approached the fixture in a "very good" manner after 11 days without a match.

The Portuguese told BBC WM: "I think we improved a lot from the last performance. First of all, our approach was very good. We recognised that we had to get better. That requires character, and the team showed that today on the pitch.

"We wanted to be in control of the game, harder organisation, solid, talent, chances, goals, set-pieces, all of these things of the game. A very good performance, this is the way."

Wolves now sit six points clear at the top of the standings ahead of Saturday's West Midlands derby at Aston Villa.
