Stewart Robson: 'Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is so arrogant, it's untrue'

Former Arsenal midfielder Stewart Robson says that Arsene Wenger is "so arrogant, it's untrue".

Former Arsenal midfielder Stewart Robson has described Arsene Wenger as "arrogant" for not walking away from the club.

The Frenchman has been heavily criticised over the past few days following Sunday's EFL Cup final defeat to Manchester City.

Many fans called for Wenger to end his two-decade tenure last summer, but the 68-year-old penned a new two-year deal at the Emirates.

"Did you see his interview yesterday?" Robson told talkSPORT. "'I've turned down the world to stay at Arsenal' - he's so arrogant, it's untrue.

"The reason he stays at Arsenal is he can do what he wants, he's not under pressure and he gets paid nearly £10m a year - that's why he stays at Arsenal, not because he's loyal to the club.

"If he was loyal to Arsenal and loved Arsenal so much, he would have left two or three years ago."

The North London outfit currently sit sixth in the Premier League table.
