Arsene Wenger: 'Liverpool result is vital'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that Monday's result against Liverpool will be vital, but his team already look better than last season.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has spoken about Monday's important game against Liverpool and how his team look different after the Crystal Palace result.

An Oliver Giroud strike and a Damien Delaney own goal helped Arsenal sneak through a tricky away game against Palace last week.

"They're a different team to last season," Wenger told reporters. "Confidence is linked with your last result. We responded well at Palace.

"All the players who played at Palace should be available on Monday night. You would want these games later in the season but it's more difficult to organise with so many big teams in the league.

"We looked sharp at Crystal Palace. The result on Monday will be vital and we know it's an important game. The fans deserve good home and away performances. Our job is to make people who love this club happy. You feel guilty when you don't."

Liverpool are currently ahead of Arsenal in the league with two wins from two.
