Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that his side can still improve physically despite recording their first win of the new Premier League season with a 3-1 triumph over Watford this afternoon.
The Gunners made a slow start to the 2016-17 campaign, picking up just one point from their first two games having lost to Liverpool and drawn 0-0 with Leicester City.
However, they found themselves 3-0 ahead by half time at Vicarage Road this afternoon courtesy of goals from Santi Cazorla, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, and Wenger was happy with what he saw.
"I believe we shot ourselves in the foot in first game and were under huge pressure. We had two difficult away games but today I believe we had a good solid performance," he told Sky Sports News.
"We had a good cushion at half time. At the moment we are not completely there physically and could see that in second half.
"Ozil is not physically there completely but what we want from Ozil is assists and goals and I hope he can get that this season, 10 or 15 goals plus the chances he creates."
Wenger also confirmed that the club have completed deals for Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez.
