Arsenal lead chase for Porto striker Jackson Martinez?

Arsenal could be in the clear to sign Porto forward Jackson Martinez after the Portuguese club reportedly reject an advance from Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

Arsenal could be in the clear to sign Porto frontman Jackson Martinez after the club reportedly rejected a bid from fellow suitors Atletico Madrid.

The Colombian forward is thought to be a target for Arsenal, with The Metro reporting that Arsene Wenger may now be in pole position to land the frontman after Porto apparently pushed back an initial advance from Diego Simeone's side.

Porto have supposedly told Martinez that he can leave in the summer, and the Gunners are weighing up a £25m bid to potentially be lodged after the Copa America.

Wenger's side finished in third place in the Premier League last season.
