Arsenal reportedly send scouts to watch Club Libertad's 18-year-old forward Julio Enciso ahead of a potential swoop in the summer.

Arsenal have reportedly sent scouts to watch Club Libertad starlet Julio Enciso ahead of a potential swoop in the summer.

Mikel Arteta is set to be active in the transfer market ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, with up to 12 players allegedly on their way out of the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are expected to stick with their philosophy of recruiting younger talents, and Argentinian news outlet Cronica claims that the Gunners have identified 18-year-old Enciso as one of a number of potential targets this summer.

The report adds that Arsenal scout Everton Gushiken was in Paraguay to watch the teenage forward play in Club Libertad's 4-0 defeat against Cerro Porteno on Sunday.

Gushiken is also understood to have kept a close eye on Cerro Porteno's 22-year-old centre-back Alexis Duarte in the same game.

Enciso, who has five international caps with Paraguay, has enjoyed a prolific spell in front of goal so far in 2022, scoring 10 goals is as many league appearances, while Duarte has helped Cerro Porteno keep seven clean sheets in 11 games across all competitions.
