West Ham United are reportedly set to activate a two-year extension in Ben Johnson's contact, fending off interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

West Ham United are reportedly set to activate a two-year extension in Ben Johnson's contact, fending off interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

The 22-year-old has established himself as a first-team regular under David Moyes, competing with Vladimir Coufal at right-back and also operating at left-back as cover for Aaron Cresswell.

Johnson, who joined the Hammers' youth academy at the age of seven, is believed to have caught the eye of London rivals Arsenal and Spurs, who have been impressed with his development over the last few years.

The full-back has less than five months remaining on his current contract; however, the Evening Standard reports that West Ham will take up the option to extend his deal by two years until the summer of 2024.

Johnson has featured in 20 games for the Hammers across all competitions this season and is in contention to start against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League this weekend.

The defender is hoping to remain in the first team in order to increase his chances of receiving his first England Under-21s call-up next month.
