Carlos Vela: 'No issue with Mario Mandzukic'

Real Sociedad attacker Carlos Vela claims that his collision with Mario Mandzukic in Sunday's clash with Atletico Madrid was "part of football".

Real Sociedad forward Carlos Vela has insisted that he will not hold a grudge against Atletico Madrid forward Mario Mandzukic following a clash between the two players in Sunday's La Liga clash.

Vela, who scored his side's equaliser in their 2-1 win, suffered a nasty cut after colliding with Mandzukic in the Atletico penalty area at the Anoeta.

At the time, the Mexican thought that he deserved a penalty, but the attacker took a calmer view after the match.

"It's a part of football and I'm not giving it any more thought. The game is over now and that's all there is to it," Vela told AS.

Vela's strike on Sunday was just his second league goal of the season.
