Pep Guardiola rules out return to Barcelona

Former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola hints that he will not return to the Catalan club in the future.

Former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola has ruled out a return to Barcelona in the future.

Guardiola managed the Catalan club from 2008 to 2012 and won 14 trophies, making him Barcelona's most successful manager ever.

At the start of next season, the former Spanish international midfielder will take the reins at Bayern Munich, who beat Barcelona 7-0 on aggregate to reach the Champions League final.

While speaking at an event in Buenos Aries just a day after the game, Guardiola told local press that he is unlikely to go back to the Spanish side.

"That chapter is closed," he said. "It was a fantastic chapter, but, as in life, one is born, grows and evolves.

"I was happy at Barcelona. I had a wonderful relationship with the people I worked with, but life goes on and we need to pursue other goals. I felt a very large peace with myself when I left. I did the best I could.

"Everything has a beginning and an end. And the end comes when you discover that it's enough."

Guardiola's future club Bayern Munich face Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga tomorrow, just three weeks before they face each other again in the Champions League final.
