Pele: 'I would play for Barcelona'

Former Brazil international Pele says that he would want to play for Barcelona if he were still a professional footballer.

Former Brazil international Pele has revealed that he would want to play for Barcelona in the modern game.

The 73-year-old, who retired from professional football in 1977 after turning out for the New York Cosmos, is widely regarded as one of the best players in the history of the game.

The attacker scored close to 700 times during his time with Santos, while he also won three World Cups with his country.

"I would play for Barca," Mundo Deportivo reports Pele as saying. "I could play for two or three teams but right now I'd choose Barca because their style of play is most similar to the style of play in my day at Santos."

Pele is currently a worldwide ambassador for football.
