The 28-year-old was due to be a free agent at the end of next season but has now penned a new deal until 2017.
"Barcelona have agreed terms with Adriano to renew the player's contract for four additional seasons, through June 30, 2017," read an official club statement.
Adriano's new contract contains a buy-out clause worth €90m (£76m).
