Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has reportedly told Barcelona that he wants to join the Catalan giants during this summer's transfer window.
The 33-year-old has again been in excellent form for his German club during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 45 goals and registering four assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.
Lewandowski's contract at Allianz Arena is due to expire in June 2023, though, and Bayern are allegedly struggling to convince him to sign an extension.
The Poland international is believed to want at least a two-year extension, which is not currently being offered by the Bundesliga champions.
Barcelona have been strongly linked with the forward in recent weeks, and according to Sport, Lewandowski has now told Xavi's side that he wants to join them in the upcoming market.
The report claims that the nine-time Bundesliga winner wants to play in La Liga before the end of his career and would reject Premier League offers to move to Camp Nou.
Lewandowski has scored 339 goals and registered 69 assists in 367 appearances for Bayern since making the switch from Borussia Dortmund in July 2014.
