Report: Sevilla want Mehmet Topal

A report claims that Sevilla will move for Fenerbahce midfielder Mehmet Topal this summer if Ivan Rakitic joins Barcelona.

Sevilla will reportedly move for Fenerbahce midfielder Mehmet Topal this summer if Ivan Rakitic joins Barcelona.

Sevilla boss Unai Emery is familiar with Topal having coached the Turkish international during his time with Valencia.

According to Sport, Emery is hopeful that the relationship between the two will stand him in good stead when it comes to convincing the 28-year-old to join.

The Europa League champions will reportedly initially offer £5.5m for Topal, but it is understood that his Turkish side will not sanction a sale at that price.

Topal joined Fenerbahce from Valencia in 2012.
