UEFA investigate claims Shakhtar Donetsk's Luiz Adriano was racially abused

UEFA open disciplinary proceedings against BATE Borisov over alleged racism from their supporters towards Shakhtar Donetsk's Luiz Adriano.

UEFA has confirmed that disciplinary proceedings against BATE Borisov have been opened following claims of racist abuse from their supporters.

Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano revealed after his side's 7-0 victory over BATE in the Champions League last night that he was racially abused.

According to The AP, Adriano, who scored five goals during Shakhtar's dominant performance, claimed that he heard "unpleasant sounds, racist ones", during the away match.

The European governing body announced this morning that disciplinary proceedings against BATE over the "racist behavior of supporters" have begun.

The case will be dealt with on November 13.
