Bayern Munich midfielder Javi Martinez has admitted that he must find top form to hold down a regular starting spot following his return from injury last weekend.
Martinez ended a two-month spell on the sidelines after coming on as a substitute in Saturday's 3-2 win over Hertha Berlin, finally shrugging off a groin problem sustained against Chelsea in August's Super Cup clash.
The Spaniard conceded that he will need extensive work in training before finding full fitness, with strong competition for places in Bayern's star-studded midfield.
He told the club's official website: "I feel good and am very happy to be back with the team. I now need training to reach my top level as fast as possible."
Pep Guardiola's side had to come from behind against Hertha to stay top of the Bundesliga, with a brace from Mario Mandzukic helping to maintain their unbeaten start.
