Gabriel Calderon wants Real Betis stay

Real Betis boss Gabriel Calderon insists that he wants to stay with the Seville-based side.

Real Betis boss Gabriel Calderon has revealed that he wants to stay with the Seville-based side despite their relegation to the Segunda.

Betis complete what has been a disappointing La Liga campaign against Osasuna on Sunday.

It had been claimed that Calderon would depart the basement side in the summer, but the Spaniard is desperate to remain at the club.

"My dream was to manage Betis and keep them in the Primera, which is something I've not been able to achieve. In my heart, I'll never leave Betis," Inside Spanish Football quotes Calderon as saying.

"Whether I'm on the inside or the outside, I'll always be with Betis. Next week we'll see what happens about my position and if I'm to stay working here or not."

Calderon has been in charge of Betis since January.
