Half-Time Report: Blackpool lead through Chris Basham header

A Chris Basham goal separates Blackpool and Leicester City at the interval.

A header from Chris Basham separates Blackpool and Leicester City at half time in today's Championship showdown.

The home side came close to opening the scoring in the 10th minute when neat footwork from Stephen Dobbie carved out a chance for Ricardo Fuller, but the striker's effort was saved by Kasper Schmeichel.

Blackpool took the lead in the 19th minute through Basham, who headed home a Fuller cross from six yards out.

There were chances for both teams after the deadlock was broken, with Anthony Knockaert and Andy King coming close for the Foxes, while Basham was a constant nuisance at the other end.

Thomas Ince thought that he had put away a second for Blackpool ahead of the half-time whistle, but his strike was ruled out for offside.
