Promotion contenders Bolton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest play out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Reebok Stadium.

Bolton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest were forced to share the spoils after they played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Reebok Stadium tonight.

Forest, who were unbeaten under new manager Sean O'Driscoll heading into the game, took a 15th-minute lead courtesy of a Lewis McGugan strike.

Minutes after the midfielder had tested Adam Bogdan with a left-footed curler, he sent a 30-yard bullet past the Bolton stopper and into the top corner.

The visitors had the majority of the ball following McGugan's opener but failed to create many clear-cut chances, and were made to pay when Bolton turned the game around with a goal either side of half-time.

The troublesome Kevin Davies was involved in both, firstly heading onto the post before Chris Eagles converted the rebound, before setting up Marvin Sordell for his first Trotters goal.

Forest defender Greg Halford conceded possession to Davies in his own area and the Wanderers captain squared for Sordell to break his Bolton duck on 49 minutes.

The hosts' lead was short lived as Andy Reid levelled the scores less than 10 minutes later when he applied a cool left-footed finish to Simon Cox's layoff.

With the game up for grabs, Forest had the better of the late chances, but both Cox and Reid wasted opportunities as Owen Coyle's side escaped with a point.
