Eddie Howe happy to have Bournemouth selection headache

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe admits that he is struggling to select a settled XI in the Premier League as he has a number of players to choose from.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has talked up the strength in depth available to him and admits that he has "plenty of selection headaches" ahead of the visit of Chelsea.

The Cherries have won back-to-back games over the past week, seeing off Stoke City for their first away triumph in the Premier League this season and battling to a 3-1 win against Middlesbrough in the EFL Cup.

Howe rotated his squad for the midweek meeting with Boro and is likely to now revert back to the XI that featured from the off against Stoke, but he believes that the performances of some of his fringe players last time out has given him a dilemma.

"I've always thought we had a strong squad this season, which was shown this week," he told reporters. "We have an evenly-balanced squad, and I don't think we have an XI which picks itself at the moment.

"We have a lot of good players who, when they are performing well, gives me plenty of selection headaches. And hopefully that will continue throughout the season because that's the challenges I want when picking a team - with everyone playing at their full potential."

Bournemouth, still inside the bottom three of the Premier League, have also been drawn to face Chelsea in round five of the EFL Cup.
