Bradford City have confirmed that they have signed Michael Nelson from Kilmarnock.
It is understood that the defender has cost the League Two side £30,000.
Bantams boss Phil Parkinson told BBC Radio Leeds: "I've been concerned about our lack of experience at the back with the big games we have coming up.
"Michael knows the job, he's a leader and he'll be a good addition for us."
The 32-year-old has also had spells at Scunthorpe United, Norwich City and Hartlepool United.
