Hughton hopes Glenn Murray can feature against Burnley

Murray scored a penalty in Brighton's win over Crystal Palace before being forced off.

Brighton boss Chris Hughton has revealed Glenn Murray's shoulder injury is not as bad as first thought and the striker could be back in contention for Saturday's trip to Burnley.

Murray scored a penalty in Tuesday night's 3-1 win over Crystal Palace, before being forced out after 35 minutes.

But Hughton hopes Murray will not be facing a long lay-off, saying: "It wasn't as bad as we thought, we'll give him every opportunity to be fit (for Saturday).

"He went over on his shoulder, but it's not dislocated or anything – it's a bit sore but better than what it could have been."

Winger Jose Izquierdo is also expected to train on Friday after picking up a knee problem against Palace.

Hughton added: "Jose Izquierdo is the same – both him and Glenn should train tomorrow and we'll go from there."

Florin Andone came off the bench to replace Murray, and laid down a marker to stay in the team with a fine individual effort for Brighton's third goal.

It was the second successive appearance in which the Belgian had scored, and Hughton is pleased with his focus as Brighton target a third straight Premier League win.

"Florin Andone has come in and got two goals in his first two starts, we are really pleased for him because he's put a lot of work," Hughton said at a press conference reported by the club.

"We have good competition there now."

The Seagulls are unbeaten in three games as they head to Turf Moor.

"We are scoring goals at the moment and playing well – that's big for us as well because we are still relatively new to the division, so we obviously want that to continue," Hughton said.

Hughton confirmed forward Alireza Jahanbakhsh is now back in training after his hamstring trouble, but will not be in contention this weekend.

Midfielder Dale Stephens is available again after completing a three-match ban.

Defender Shane Duffy, though, will now start a suspension following his red card against Palace, so Leon Balogun is set to step in, having scored his first goal for Brighton moments after coming on in midweek.
