Scott Brown backs Celtic to qualify for Champions League

Scott Brown is confident that Celtic can overcome their first-leg deficit against Legia Warsaw and make it through to the group stage of the Champions League.

Celtic captain Scott Brown has backed his team to overcome their first-leg deficit against Legia Warsaw and qualify for the Champions League.

The Bhoys were comfortably beaten 4-1 in Poland last week - a result that has given them a tough task of reaching the group stage of the tournament.

However, Brown is confident that he and his teammates have what it takes to progress when they play the second leg at Murrayfield on Wednesday night.

"It's going to be hard, and we need three goals, but we need to show them how good we are. I believe that we can do it," he told the club's official website.

"The lads will remember every single thing (about the first leg). Warsaw got a little bit over-confident at the end and celebrated in a few of the lads' faces.

"The boys will be thinking about that as soon as they go into the game. They won't want that to happen again. They'll believe they can be the ones celebrating at the end of the game."

Celtic start the defence of their Scottish Premiership title next Wednesday when they travel to St Johnstone.
