Jose Mourinho expects to see out Chelsea contract until 2019

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insists that he will see out his contract until 2019 after a rocky start to the season.

Under-fire Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that he is confident of fulfilling his contract with the club until 2019.

The Portuguese coach signed a new four-year deal over the summer after guiding the Blues to the Premier League title, but results have slumped dramatically this season.

Chelsea have lost six and won just three of their 11 league games this season to sit 15th and last week also exited the Capital One Cup by losing to Stoke in the fourth round.

Tomorrow the Blues host Dynamo Kiev in their fourth Champions League Group G match of the season. At the halfway mark of the group stage, Mourinho's men are third in the group having won just one of their first three matches.

At his pre-match press conference today, Mourinho was asked if he had held discussions with club owner Roman Abramovich over his future and he told reporters: "I don't have to answer you if I was with the owner or not."

He was also asked how much longer he felt he had at Stamford Bridge and replied confidently that he would see out his contract.

"Four years," he said. "In this case, three years and seven months."

Chelsea have lost nine of their 17 matches in all competitions this term and Mourinho refused to pinpoint why they have gone from runaway title winners to struggling bottom-half outfit.

"It's a combination of factors and some of them I can't, I don't want to touch them," he added.

Chelsea's slow start to the season means that they are 14 points behind leaders Manchester City and Arsenal.
