Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Chelsea

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Thursday's Premier League clash with Chelsea.

Manchester City will be looking to continue their dominant start to Premier League life after lockdown when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.

Pep Guardiola's side have prolonged their title reign courtesy of victories over Arsenal and Burnley so far, scoring eight goals without reply in the process.

A visit to Champions League-chasing Chelsea will be their toughest test since returning to action, though, with Frank Lampard's side having also won their first game back to move five points clear of Manchester United.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Sergio Aguero

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Sergio Aguero limped off with a knee problem during the Burnley rout, with Guardiola admitting that his injury "doesn't look good". The Argentine will now travel to Barcelona to see a specialist, but could require surgery which may rule him out for the remainder of the season.

Phil Foden

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: June 25 (vs. Chelsea)

Phil Foden - man of the match against Burnley and scorer of three goals since the restart - picked up a knock against the Clarets but is expected to shake it off in time for Thursday's contest.

Eric Garcia

Status: Out
Type of injury: Head
Possible return date: Unknown

Premier League protocols over concussion mean that Eric Garcia cannot play again until Friday at the earliest following his heavy collision with Ederson, ruling him out of this match.

John Stones

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: June 25 (vs. Chelsea)

John Stones has missed both matches back so far but is nearing his return from an ankle injury and could be in contention for Thursday's contest.

Claudio Bravo

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: June 25 (vs. Chelsea)

Claudio Bravo has been struggling with a hamstring injury since the Premier League returned and, while he is now back out on the training field, Thursday's contest may still come just too soon for him.

Man City have no players suspended for this match.
