Josh McEachran claims that he still retains hope of becoming a regular first-team player at Chelsea.

Josh McEachran has revealed that he still has aspirations of becoming a first-team regular at Chelsea.

The midfielder is currently on loan at Middlesbrough but believes that there is still a possibility he can make an impact at Stamford Bridge.

"Chelsea managers are under a lot of pressure so they'll go with experienced players," McEachran told The Times. "But you've got to be patient and hopefully my time will come.

"All the English lads have been really good to me, especially Ashley Cole, who has stayed in touch and sends me messages.

"There's an English corner in the dressing room and when I got into the first team they welcomed me straight in, gave me a locker and put their arms around me."

McEachran has made 24 appearances for Middlesbrough in the Championship this season.
