Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has reportedly met with Chelsea representatives in London to discuss a potential transfer for Olivier Giroud in January.

The Frenchman has been forced to play second fiddle to Tammy Abraham under Frank Lampard this season, managing just two starts since August.

Chelsea and France teammate Kurt Zouma recently admitted that Giroud, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Arsenal in January 2018, was "frustrated" with his situation.

According to Tuttosport, Ausilio has been in London over the past week to explore the possibility of doing a deal for Giroud.

It is claimed that Chelsea would be willing to dispense with the 33-year-old over January for a fee of just £6m.

Inter are also said to be keen on Tottenham Hotspur pair Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen, whose contracts expire at the end of this season.
