Fiorentina director: 'We have made an insane offer to Mohamed Salah'

Fiorentina director Vincenzo Guerini claims that he has made an "insane" offer to Chelsea winger and Viola loanee Mohamed Salah in a bid to keep him at the Serie A club.

Fiorentina director Vincenzo Guerini has claimed that the Serie A club has made an "insane" offer to Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah in a bid to keep him at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

The 23-year-old has been tipped for a move to a number of clubs during the off-season, with the Florence outfit - a side he spent time on loan at last season - thought to be the frontrunners.

Reports, however, have emerged of the Egypt international being unwilling to return to Fiorentina unless they increase his wages to £40,000 per week.

Guerini is quoted by Setanta Sports as saying: "I tell our fans that the club made an insane offer to Salah.

"If any player, not just Salah, turned down a proposal like that, then it's best he doesn't stay at Fiorentina. However, I think Salah will accept.

"He made a huge impact with us, so it's normal that he should receive calls from elsewhere. He wants to earn more, but Fiorentina made a truly important proposal."

Salah scored nine goals during his six-month loan deal with the Viola.
