Colchester United have announced the swift appointment of Tony Humes as the club's new manager, just hours after parting company with Joe Dunne.
Humes, 48, makes the step-up from leading the club's academy to take charge of the first team.
A statement on the U's website read: "Tony has been a key part of the club's recent successes of youth team players progressing into the first team, and now will work towards continuing the club's playing and development philosophy."
Humes's assistant will be Richard Hall, who also moves from the U's youth development to the first team.
