Goals from Martin Lanig and Stefan Aigner see Eintracht Frankfurt get the better of Hoffenheim 2-1 at home.

Eintracht Frankfurt have maintained their chances of a top-four finish in the Bundesliga this season with a 2-1 home win against Hoffenheim.

Armin Veh's side are just three points behind both Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen in fourth place at the moment, while their opponents on Saturday afternoon slip down to second from bottom.

Frankfurt controlled the proceedings in the opening minutes and had their first chance in the third minute, when Alexander Meier took an attempt on goal but in vain.

Martin Lanig went close for the home side just five minutes later and eventually broke the deadlock in the 35th minute with a shot that deflected off Matthieu Delpierre.

Hoffenheim restored parity 20 minutes into the second half through Kevin Volland, who turned in Andreas Beck's cross from close range.

However, two minutes later Frankfurt scored what proved to be the winning goal as Joselu's near-post flick fell to the feet of Stefan Aigner, who tapped in from just yards out.
